Methodology
Coins.place compares cryptocurrency exchanges on facts you can check yourself.
Which exchanges we list
We start with widely used exchanges that serve English-speaking retail customers and publish both an official fee schedule and an official page about where they operate. Whether an exchange has an affiliate programme plays no part in which exchanges we list.
Where the data comes from
- Fees, country availability, security features and supported assets come from each exchange's own official pages. We do not copy figures from other review sites.
- Every value shows the page it came from and the date we checked it (open the "Source" receipt).
- Values are shown as the exchange states them, with the assumption they depend on (for example the base volume tier or a payment method).
- If we can't confirm a value on an official page, it is marked Not verified.
How often we check
- Fees and country availability: every 30 days.
- Security, assets and features: every 90 days.
Values older than their interval are labelled "May be out of date" until they are checked again.
Rankings
Directory and comparison tables are listed alphabetically. We will only publish "best for" lists once the scoring criteria and their weights are published on this page. Compensation may influence which exchanges we feature, but never the data or methodology scores.
What we never do
- Present availability as legal advice — we repeat what the exchange publishes.
- Estimate fees we can't source.
- Hide affiliate relationships. Affiliate links are labelled where they appear.
